    History

China, with a recorded history of 5,000 years, was one of the world's earliest civilizations. Also as one of the countries where economic activity first developed,Chinese people in the Yellow River valley had already started farming and raising livestock as early as 5,000 to 6,000 years ago. In the 21st century B.C., China established a slave society with the founding of the Xia Dynasty, thereby writing a finale to long years of primitive society.

In 221 B.C., China was once and for all by the Qin emperor, but his dynasty was replaced soon after his death by the Han dynasty. The Han set the record for dynastic longevity at 400+ years and gave their name to China's dominant ethnic group. Then, Han dynasty was succumbed to the balkanization of the Three Kingdoms era. The Three Kingdoms Period was followed by the Jin (265-420), the Southern and Northern Dynasties (420-589), and the Sui Dynasty (581-618). In 907 AD, the Tang dynasty, after its conquer of the short Sui dynasty, began its China’s Golden age during its reign over a vast land.

Tang’s follower, the Song dynasty lasted three hundred years, but the last third as a refugee dynasty in the South while the North saw co-existence of a cluster of minority-lead powers.

HistoryThis was finally put straight in 1279 by invading Mongols with Kublai Khan becoming the first non-Han Chinese emperor. His Yuan dynasty hadn't broken the 100-year mark before it was replaced by a home-grown dynasty, the Ming. The Ming, though notoriously corrupted, lasted almost 300 years. In 1644, the southward Manchus conquered the Ming, and ruled for two and a half centuries as the Qing Dynasty. The Bourgeois Democratic Revolution of 1911 led by Sun Yat-sen toppled the rule of the Qing Dynasty, putting an end to more than 2,000 years of feudal monarchical system.

The People's Republic of China was founded on October 1st, 1949. Today, China is implementing reform and open polices and undergoing a high speed development. It welcomes travelers from any corner of the world.
