China Weather & Climate of China
China is a large country so clearly weather patterns vary enormously across the country. Harbin in the far northeast is subject to severe cold weather influenced by Siberia cold front in winters, while Hong Kong and the Southeast have a subtropical climate, hot and humid most of the year. One generalization holds true for much of eastern China--summers are hot, humid and rainy. When travelling around China, it is important to be prepared for temperature variations. For example, even during the hot summer months, temperatures may be cool at high elevations or at night. Even during the cold winters of Beijing, it is possible to have relatively warm days. Since many of the tourist sights are mostly outdoors, it is important to be prepared to spend long periods of time outdoors.

As for clothes tips, it won't be a big concern.. In spring and summer, a warm jacket will shun away all the cool air. In summer, just fill your travel suitcase with light clothes-T shirt, shot pants stuff like that, and heavy warm coats will only be necessary when you stay outside at night in mountain area. In the north in winter, it is essential to have a very warm coat and also long underwear, hats, scarves and gloves are recommended.
However, if you find the clothes in the travel suitcase is burdensome, just leave them in your home garderobe, for you will never find it's hard to buy good quality clothes at reasonable prices in China.
