Sanyuan Temple 三元宫
Located at the south foot of Yuexiu Hill (No. 11 Yinyuan Road), Sanyuan Taoist Temple is the largest and oldest Taoist temple in Guangzhou with a history of 1,680 years. Originally named Baoguci, the temple was renovated in the Wanli Reign of Ming Dynasty to enshrine the three divine officials —Yao, Shun and Yu (the lords of Heaven, Earth and Water in Taoism), thus renamed as Sanyuan Palace(Three Primaries Palace). It is one of the key palaces nationwide and a Cultural Relic Protection Unit of Guangzhou.
